A Respectful Coexistence
Sedona isn’t just beautiful — it’s alive.
Coyotes, javelina, deer, the occasional (harmless) tarantula… even a rare Gila monster if you’re lucky. This is their home — we just get to experience it.
The truth?
Most wildlife here isn’t something to worry about — it’s something to respect. A little awareness goes a long way:
• Keep an eye on pets (especially at dusk)
• Give animals space
• Stay aware on trails
• And remember… you’re in the desert — bring water, wear proper shoes, check the weather
In over 20 years of exploring Sedona, I’ve rarely seen anything that made me uneasy — but I’ve seen enough to know this place deserves respect.
And that’s part of what makes it special.
