Seasonal Events & Festivals

Sedona doesn’t slow down when the trails empty out. There’s something happening in every season, from luminaria-lit holiday nights to red rock wine festivals, film premieres to summer concerts under the stars. The trick is knowing what’s on when you visit, so you can build your trip around it. Here’s a season-by-season look at the events worth planning for, all of them an easy outing from your Vivid rental.

Spring (March to May)

Spring is arguably Sedona’s finest hour. Wildflowers bloom across the high desert, the hiking weather is perfect, and the events calendar wakes up with it. It’s a popular window, so it pays to plan ahead.

Sedona Yoga Festival (late April, April 23 to 26 in 2026). Four days of yoga, breathwork, and wellness sessions set against the red rocks, drawing teachers and practitioners from around the country.
Chamber Music Sedona’s spring concert series (early May). Internationally acclaimed musicians perform intimate, world-class concerts, including a signature series exploring the connection between music and literature.
Cinco de Mayo at Tlaquepaque (early May). The arts village fills its courtyards with mariachi, folklorico dancers, and Mexican street food for a free, festive afternoon.

Book early for spring weekends. This is one of the busiest and most beautiful times to be in town.

Summer (June to August)

Summers are warm and lively, with cool creek swims by day and music in the evenings. Afternoon monsoon storms roll through and clear just as fast, leaving the rocks glowing. It’s a great season for families and outdoor events.

Fourth of July Summer Splash (July 4). A free community celebration at the Sedona Community Pool, perfect for families looking for an easygoing holiday afternoon.
Outdoor concert series. Throughout the warmer months, the city’s parks host live music evenings, a relaxed way to enjoy local and touring artists under open skies.
Red Rocks Music Festival (late summer). A celebration of music in every genre, from classical to contemporary, performed against Sedona’s iconic backdrop.

Pair an evening event with a daytime dip at one of Sedona’s swimming holes and you’ve got the ideal summer day.

Fall (September to November)

If spring is the prettiest season, fall might be the most enjoyable. The heat softens, the cottonwoods turn gold along the creeks, and the calendar is packed with food, wine, and art. Many travelers consider this peak Sedona.

Restaurant Week Sedona (late September, September 18 to 27 in 2026). The Verde Valley’s top restaurants offer specially priced menus, a delicious way to eat your way through the region.
• Verde Valley and Sedona wine events (fall). Arizona’s wine country is closer than you think, with seasonal festivals celebrating local wineries, food, and live music.
Sedona Arts Festival (mid-October, October 10 to 11 in 2026). More than 100 juried artists, live music, and food across a weekend in the red rocks. (More on Sedona’s art scene in our Arts & Culture guide.)
Sedona Plein Air Festival (mid-to-late October). Artists paint the landscape live across the region during the best weather of the year.

Fall weekends are in high demand, so reserve your stay as soon as your dates are set.

Winter (December to February)

Winter in Sedona is a quiet kind of magic. Days stay mild and sunny, crowds thin out, and an occasional dusting of snow on the red rocks is a sight you won’t forget. The holidays bring some of the most atmospheric events of the year.

Tlaquepaque Festival of Lights (second Saturday of December, December 12 in 2026). At dusk, roughly 6,000 hand-lit luminarias glow across the arts village courtyards. It’s free, it’s breathtaking, and it’s one of Sedona’s most beloved traditions.
Holiday season and New Year’s Eve. Shops and galleries stay open late for festive strolls, and the town rings in the new year against its signature backdrop.
RunSedona Half Marathon, 10K and 5K (early February). A scenic race for all levels that loops through some of the area’s most striking red rock country.
Sedona International Film Festival (late February into early March, February 21 to March 1 in 2026). Nine days and more than 150 independent films, with filmmaker Q&As and workshops across town.

Winter is the season of lower rates and elbow room, a perfect time for a cozy, scenic escape.

Plan Your Trip Around the Moment

The best Sedona memories often come down to timing. Catch the luminarias in December, the wildflowers in spring, the wine and art of fall. Whenever you choose to visit, a Vivid rental gives you a private, comfortable home base just minutes from the action, so you can enjoy the event and retreat to your own space afterward. Book direct and time your stay to something unforgettable.
